Buttonwood Trees

These types of trees are found along the banks of the Naugatuck River in Seymour along Rt. 34 in Connecticut.   Buttonwoods are also called Sycamore trees, (Platanus occidentalis) by various field guides I've consulted.  These specimens were pretty much as stripped and white as they look.  The sun setting in the west did brighten their light appearance.  Oil, 4'x3'
